Born from a passion for authentic storytelling, Meet the Leader connects our top journalists with visionary leaders to help them share their engaging, meaningful and inspiring stories – redefining leadership for an inclusive, purposeful, connected and compassionate world.
In 2017, after a three-decade career at the forefront of the media industry – including senior editorial roles at Hachette UK, Sky, and the Institute of Directors – Lysanne Currie had a vision.
For five years, as Editor-in-Chief of Director magazine, she did what she loved most – meeting extraordinary business leaders and telling their stories: their hopes, dreams, values, and the ways they recharge and stay resilient in an ever-changing world.
At the same time, she recognised something was shifting in journalism. As full-time editorial roles dwindled, many experienced writers were being squeezed out of the market – not for lack of talent, but because traditional models no longer fit the realities of modern life.
Meet the Leader (MTL) was her answer: a unique content agency connecting insightful, purposeful leaders with exceptional, award-winning journalists to help tell their stories in a compelling, meaningful way – with authenticity, impact, and heart. Ever since, this boutique business has championed human-first leadership storytelling – while enabling brilliant journalists to thrive.
From day one, MTL has been flexible by design – supporting writers with side projects, family responsibilities or other careers, and giving them the freedom to work on their own terms. This flexibility has enabled MTL to attract a remarkable pool of professionals and build a truly creative community. In turn, clients get exceptional content – from leadership profiles and thought leadership to brand storytelling, ghostwritten pieces, reports, and social content – all crafted with the warmth and precision of top-tier journalism.
Today, MTL operates in 15 countries, working with 27 passionate journalists and creatives. Its philosophy and commitment to amplifying diverse leadership voices has already led to six prestigious awards and counting, including Best Travel Content Agency and Content Agency of the Year.
From producing content for the likes of Forbes Global Properties, Tempus and Attivo Life, to white-labelling for entrepreneurs, politicians and changemakers, MTL’s ever-growing pool of gifted writers has built a reputation for creating content that genuinely connects.
Recent projects have ranged from launching newsletters and digital magazines to rewriting websites and producing insightful reports for leading organisations across sectors, with clients including The Chartered Institute of Public Relations, Boardroom Africa, and many financial services companies and international luxury destinations. It also offers video production – and even expert-led, tailored media interview coaching, led by pro-journalists and filmed by skilled directors.
